Religious Coalition for Community Renewal Asks for Delay in Homeless Camp

A coalition that was requesting funding from the city of Charleston to establish a low-barrier shelter with tiny homes and to create a day shelter on the West Side for those experiencing homelessness has asked the city to delay consideration. The Religious Coalition for Community Renewal asked for the delay in a letter Wednesday to Charleston City Manager Jonathan Storage to allow time for further input. City officials have received more than 50 applications for American Rescue Plan funding.
