Traffic Stop Leads to a Police Chase in St. Albans

St. Albans police said they found guns, a stolen motorcycle and what appeared to be explosives at the home of the man accused of driving off during a traffic stop and leading police on a chase Monday. Officers pulled over a white, 2013 Chevrolet Silverado for a routine traffic violation and discovered when running the driver’s license number that the driver had a suspended driver’s license for two prior DUI charges. The driver sped off. When officers went to the driver’s home on Observatory Drive and were allowed to search, they found guns even though the driver was a prohibited person from possessing guns. The man’s name has not been released.
