The Charleston Police Department reported that two people died after a two-vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 77 South. Dispatchers reported the wreck happened about 3 a.m. Saturday near the Leon Sullivan Exit. The driver of one vehicle was transported to CAMC to receive medical care for injuries, and a passenger in that vehicle, along with the driver of the second vehicle, were pronounced dead at the scene. The wreck is under investigation by the Charleston police.
