U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., was honored this week with the 2022 national George Marshall Award which recognizes a patriotic American who best celebrates the service of those who served in the Armed Forces during World War II. Manchin was given the award by Hershel “Woody” Williams, who received the award in 2020. Manchin said he was honored to receive the 2022 award and to be able to help veterans and their families during his career. The award is named after five-star U.S. Army General George Marshall led the American military during World War II.
