Police in Beckley said they are stepping up enforcement and doubling rewards for tips after more than a dozen shots fired calls in the city in the past few weeks. Officers believe most of the shootings in March are linked to an ongoing conflict between two groups. At least eight of the incidents resulted in more than 200 shots being fired into homes throughout the city, but no injuries have been reported. Crimestoppers WV will be offering double reward values up to $5,000 for any tips that lead to the arrest of those behind the gun violence. Anyone with information on the shootings can contact the Beckley Police Department at 304-256-1720 or Crimestoppers WV through its website.
