The Charleston Sternwheel Regatta is looking for volunteers as the river-themed festival makes its return this summer. An online registration link posted by the festival asks people to list the dates and times they would be available to help. The Sternwheel Regatta is scheduled June 30 through July 4 on Kanawha Blvd. In October 2021, Charleston Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin announced the Regatta is returning in 2022 after a 12-year absence. Goodwin said residents have been asking the city to bring the event back since it ended in 2009.
