Denaul Dickerson’s Plea Deal Falls Through

A man who was shot by police in Charleston after he allegedly lunged at officers while holding two knives was set to plead guilty to several charges Thursday but the deal fell apart during the hearing after he claimed he did not assault police.
Denaul Dickerson had signed plea agreement paperwork two days ago with his attorney, Mark Plants and prosecutors had agreed to allow Dickerson to plead guilty to felony breaking and entering and two misdemeanor charges that included brandishing and assault of a law enforcement officer. But Dickerson said in court he did not assault the officer. A new hearing date is pending.
