Boone County Sheriff’s Office said a 61-year-old man was killed when a car hit a tree early Tuesday morning. Boone County dispatchers said it happened around 2:30 a.m. on Rt. 85 in the Bim area. Wharton Volunteer Fire Department, Van Volunteer Fire Department, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and Boone County Ambulance Service all responded to the scene.
