School Buildings in Fayetteville Will Become a Hotel and Apartments

State, local and federal officials announced Monday that old school buildings in Fayetteville will be redeveloped into a hotel and apartments as the region races to keep up with a growth in interest. Modern apartments are also expected to be part of the project. Fayetteville Mayor Sharon Cruikshank said it was always a goal of local leaders to find a use for the old school buildings that would preserve the history while also benefiting the community. WCHS TV said the region surrounding New River Gorge National Park and Preserve is racing to upgrade infrastructure and support as the Fayette County area sees a growth in outside interest following the addition of the country’s 63rd national park.
