SWAT Team Called After Shots are Fired in Huntington

A report of shots fired in the 2200 block of Ninth Avenue of Huntington Saturday afternoon led to police and SWAT to work for more than two hours to apprehend a suspect. Two people were involved, according to Chief Deputy Phil Watkins, who said a vehicle fled from the scene before law enforcement arrived and the second individual rushed into an apartment building. Eyewitness News said the individual taking cover in the apartment building was armed and it took two hours of communication before the suspect walked out on his own and was arrested. The investigation is continuing.
