A company that processes coal and other products announced Wednesday it has selected Mason County as the home of its newest plant. Frontieras North America announced in a news release that it is selecting Mason County for its first FASForm plant, its patented process of producing liquid fuels, hydrogen, methane, propane, ethane, solid carbon products from coal and waste plastics. Construction of the plant is expected to be completed by the end of 2023 and employ up to 500 people. The plant could process more than 2.7 million tons of coal annually.
