Cabell County Man is Sentenced for Drive-By Shootings

Cabell County’s prosecutor said a man accused in two fatal drive-by shootings pleaded guilty to a charge in one of the deaths and was sentenced to the maximum 40 years in prison. Justin Groff entered a guilty plea to second-degree murder in the death of Toni Cremeans, Cabell County Prosecutor Corky Hammers said Tuesday.
Groff was accused in the Dec. 8, 2020, fatal shooting of Cremeans, who was shot to death while in a car in her driveaway in Culloden. Meanwhile, Putnam County’s circuit clerk said Groff will appear June 2 for sentencing in the death of John Glaspell. Groff was arrested in the Dec. 7, 2020, in the fatal shooting of Glaspell, who was shot to death outside his apartment in Hurricane.
