Concerns Grow Over Boone County Road Slip

A stretch of Spruce Laurel Road in Boone County is down to one lane because of a massive road slip. School buses cannot travel to 11 houses because of safety concerns and WCHS TV reported the Boone County Ambulance Authority has to take other routes. Spruce Laurel Church, less than a half-mile past the part of the road in question, has noticed a drop in attendance. The Spruce River Volunteer Fire Department monitors the slip daily, and a spokesperson said the space to get through continues to shorten. The West Virginia Department of Transportation released a statement that the project is being designed now and a solution is in the works.
