On Saturday, April 30, 2022, The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the DEA’s National Drug Take Back Day. A Deputy Sheriff will be at local sheriff’s detachments from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. accepting unused prescription medications. The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs. If you’re unable to make it on April 30 and have excess medicines that need disposed, they also have a Drug Drop box at the Charleston office at #5 Goshorn Street, across from the Kanawha County Courthouse. That drop location is available during business hours each week.
