Man Accused of Lunging At Officers Enters Guilty Plea

A man who was shot by police in Charleston after he allegedly lunged at officers while holding two knives pleaded guilty Monday to three charges about a month after an initial plea deal fell apart. Denaul Dickerson pleaded guilty to felony breaking and entering and two misdemeanor charges that included brandishing and assault of a law enforcement officer. Prosecutors had agreed to allow Dickerson to plead guilty to the charges in March, but the deal fell apart in court when Dickerson said he “didn’t like one thing.” After having time to meet with his attorney and have the charges explained, Dickerson entered the guilty plea on Monday.
