The trial for a man charged in a 2016 murder in Charleston is set to start later this month. Dimitris Malone is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Nate Chaney. Charleston police said Chaney was shot several times at point blank range in the parking lot of little page terrace in August 2016. Malone was indicted on that murder charge in 2017 but wasn’t arrested until his capture in Vermont in 2020. His trial is set to begin April 19.
