Chief Judges Named for the New Court of Appeals

The three judges of West Virginia’s new Intermediate Court of Appeals have chosen the court’s first chief judge. Judge Dan Greear will serve as chief judge for the remainder of 2022 and in 2023, according to a news release Friday from the state Supreme Court. In 2024, Judge Tom Scarr will serve as chief judge, and Judge Charles Lorensen will be chief judge in 2025. Gov. Jim Justice appointed the three judges to the new court. The judges’ offices and courtroom will be in Charleston.
