Teen Faces Charges in Logan County Shooting

A Chapmanville teen is facing multiple charges following a shooting incident that occurred early Saturday morning at a Logan County hotel. 19-year old Christopher Mullins has been charged with malicious wounding, wanton endangerment and using a firearm to commit a felony. West Virginia State Police said the victim was 21-year old Tyler Topping of Jefferson City, Tennessee. Troopers responded to the Chief Logan State Park Lodge and found Topping inside with multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency service workers transported the victim to Logan Regional Medical Center and later CAMC for treatment. Troopers said they found the shooter at the scene of a single-vehicle accident. Mullins was transported to Logan Regional Medical center for treatment and later Southwestern Regional Jail. Mullins is being held on a $100,000 bond. The incident remains under investigation.
