Two Charleston Residents Plead Guilty to Involvement in a Drug Ring

Federal prosecutors said two Charleston residents pleaded guilty this week to their roles in a drug trafficking organization operating in the Charleston area. Jonathan Bush and Brittany Gilbert, both 33, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. Court documents said Bush admitted to driving from Charleston to Decatur, Georgia to buy meth which he then distributed to lower-level dealers and users in and around Charleston. Bush and Gilbert are scheduled to be sentenced on July 28 and face a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, three years of supervised release and a $1 million fine.
