American Rescue Plan Act Funds to Help Local Groups

Seven more American Rescue Plan Act grant applications were approved by Charleston City Council this week. The approved applicants were recommended by an advisory committee and reviewed by the city and a consultant, received a total of $1.94 million according to a news release from the city. Among the grant recipients: The Alzheimer’s Association WV Chapter for care services; Pollen8 for those in the Reintegr8 program supporting the South Charleston location, CafĂ© Appalachia; Capitol Market for improvements to the outdoor market pavillion; and the Healing House to train staff to effectively deal with trauma due to domestic violence.
