Ashland Double Murder is Under Investigation

Police identified a suspect and two victims involved in a fatal shooting incident that occurred at an Ashland, Kentucky duplex Friday morning. While responding to a welfare check in the 3000 block of Montgomery Avenue, officers received reports of gunfire. 20-year old Selina Easter and 18-year old Summer Algarakhuly were both pronounced dead by emergency service workers after lifesaving efforts failed to revive the victims them. An infant was also found at the scene uninjured. Investigators identified the suspect as 32-year-old John Tooson, who later shot himself after barricading himself away from police. Tooson was transported to an intensive care unit at the University of Michigan and is in critical condition. Ashland police said investigation is ongoing.
