The cutting of St. Albans High School’s CTE Broadcasting program brought opposing arguments to Monday’s Kanawha County Board of Education meeting, but the board is sticking with plans to cut the program. The broadcast program instructor position was one of the 55 staff positions cut for this upcoming school year in Kanawha County Schools. According to Kanawha County Schools, there are 36 students signed up across the four courses, but none are on track to complete the program, even into 2024. WCHS TV reported parts of the program’s curriculum will likely be incorporated into other courses such as English Media.
