Kanawha County officials said Coonskin Pool will be open to the public for free again today (Friday, June 17). Kanawha County Commissioner Lance Wheeler said he requested that the pool be opened with no admission charge due to the extreme heat, power outages in the area and the temporary closure of Pioneer Pool in East Bank. Pioneer Pool is currently closed due to a mechanical issue. Coonskin Pool was also free to the public yesterday.
