A man in Nicholas County has been charged after investigators said he attempted to meet an underage girl after discussing sexual activities. Court records said 76-year old Thakorbhai Patel is charged with soliciting a minor. Patel is accused of communicating on Facebook Messenger with a girl he thought was 14 years old and allegedly asked the teen to engage in sexual activities. Investigators said Patel also allegedly arranged a meetup with the girl. West Virginia State Police said Patel admitted to discussing sexual activities and attempting to meet with the girl in a statement. Patel is being held on a $100,000 surety/cash bond.
