Volunteers Needed for This Week’s Track and Field Meet

More than one thousand young athletes are set to compete this week at the Amateur Athletic Union’s regional track and field meet in Charleston. A few dozen of the athletes will be from West Virginia and the others will come from from Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York State. Organizers expect that the economic impact could be around $7 million with families at hotels and restauarants. Volunteers are still needed to set up hurdles, measure shots, help with other events, and do field maintenance. Volunteers can sign up on the Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau website at www.charlestonwv.com.
