WVU Senior to Compete for ‘Best Warrior’

A West Virginia University senior will represent the Mountain State in the Best Warrior Competition next month in Tennessee. National Guard Sgt. Jefferson Gwynn grew up in Wheeling and is a combat engineer with the 119th Sapper Company. Last month, Gwynn was named the Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year at the Region II Best Warrior Competition. The national competition will be held in Smyrna from July 22 through July 29. This is Gwynn’s first time competing for Best Warrior.
