Drivers looking for a scenic drive to explore West Virginia now have maps to follow.
Capitol Circle is the newest addition to the West Virginia Mountain Rides program, a partnership between the state’s tourism and transportation departments to showcase the natural beauty of the Mountain State. The route begins and ends in Charleston, forming a 200-mile loop that take about six hours to drive. In addition to the capital city, Beckley, Fayetteville, Logan and Pineville are featured along the route. Motorists also pass Hawk’s Nest State Park and cross the New River Gorge Bridge when driving the loop. The Capitol Circle marks the second route of the Mountain Rides program. The Seneca Skyway features nearly 300 miles of the Potomac Highlands.
