Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center Sets Records in March and April

New venue records were set at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center in March and April. In March, the complex hosted 36 events and generated an estimated economic impact of $15 million in the Charleston market. City officials said the record was broken again in April when the complex hosted 45 events and generated an estimated economic impact of $20 million. Officials said record breaking concession sales, merchandise sales, single-event ticket sales were set in each month. The news release said the Coliseum and Convention Center generated an estimated annual economic impact topping $85 million. Officials announced at a news conference that country superstar Reba McEntire will perform at the Coliseum on Oct. 20.
