The National Transportation Safety Board released its preliminary report on the June 22 fatal helicopter crash in Logan County. WCHS TV said the NTSB is not assigning a cause for the accident. Instead, it’s more of a description of the crash scene and the condition in which investigators found the Bell UH-1B helicopter. Six people died when the Vietnam War-era chopper crashed on its final flight of the day as part of the “Seventh Annual Huey Reunion.” Investigators are focusing on three areas: The pilot, the helicopter and the operating environment. It’s expected the final report will attempt to unravel why the helicopter went down, and that could take several more weeks.
