$400 million settlement from “Big 3” opioid distributors

Dozens of West Virginia cities and counties have reached a four-hundred-million-dollar settlement with Cardinal Health, AmerisourceBergen, and McKesson – the “big three” opioid distributors. The payment will come in over 12 years. It is the highest per capita payout in the country from drug distributors. Attorneys say the settlement is an acknowledgment of the devastation caused by the wholesale distribution of a billion pain pills in West Virginia.
