Mingo County was hit hard by heavy rains this week and continues to deal with flooding issues. Gov. Jim justice traveled to Mingo County Monday afternoon to see the damage, floodwaters and everything left behind after the most recent wash of storms. He made a stop at the Baisden Volunteer Fire Department before touring the damage. The governor said, all you can do is submit and document and make a strong case, and then let the federal government decide whether there will be an assistance package. WCHS TV said the fire department responded to several water rescues.
