Majority of Students are Not Vaccinated, Although Eligible

This is the first year that COVID-19 vaccinations are available for all school-aged students. Masks are not required for students any longer and the CDC relaxed its guidelines on dealing with the virus, especially when it comes to isolating after exposure to an infected person and the need to social distance. Less than 33% of all children 6 months to 17 years old are fully vaccinated, according to CDC data. The highest vaccination rate is among 16- to 17-year-olds at 66%.
