Several bands competed Monday night at Marshall University’s Joan C. Edwards Stadium as part of the annual Drum Corps International, or DCI competition. High school and college bands from Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, Illinois, and California competed after an exhibition performance by the Thundering Herd band. Students compete in contests during the summer, leading up to the final competition in the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, happening this year on Aug. 13.
