Today is the first day for the State Fair of West Virginia. Carnival rides begin at 11 a.m. today, and they’ll have several special discounts for opening day, including $7 gate admission and $25 ride passes. Bags are allowed, but they have to be 5 inches by 9 inches or smaller, and if they’re larger they have to be clear. The fair runs through August 20 at the state fairgrounds in Lewisburg.
