Senior Population to Grow in West Virginia

Data compiled by the website Stacker shows the counties in West Virginia that have the most seniors. Those 65 and older will comprise more than 20% of U.S. residents in 2030, and by 2034, older adults will outnumber children, according to Census Bureau projections. The most seniors now live in California, Florida, and Texas. In West Virginia, Pendleton County has the highest number of seniors in its population. Kanawha County has roughly the same number of seniors as it does 18 and younger, with both demographics coming in at 20 percent of the total population. Kanawha County ranks #35 on the list of West Virginia counties with the highest number of seniors.
