Deputies made an arrest in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred last Monday evening in Fayette County. 20-year old Kayce R. Simms of Mount Hope was charged with the first-degree murder of 27-year-old Scarbro resident Ashtin Owens, according to a social media post from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department. Investigators report Owens died after being shot in the abdomen at the Mountainair Mobile Home Park in Glen Jean. An arrest warrant was obtained Friday morning and Simms was apprehended late Friday afternoon.
