Members of the West Virginia House are hoping to reach a deal on tax cuts next week after a session that put the governor and delegates at odds with senators on which taxes to cut. The Senate Finance Committee’s version of the state budget leaves room for an over 480-million dollar tax cut. Senators passed a 15-percent income tax cut and a rebate for car taxes and the business, equipment and inventory property tax for small businesses. The House and Gov. Jim Justice favor a 50-percent income tax cut phased in over three years. Negotiations are still taking place between key players in the Legislature and the Justice administration.
