A year has now passed since Grace Allison Smith was last seen in Mason County. Despite hundreds of tips, countless interviews and searches, there are still no major leads for investigators to piece together what happened to her. On Feb. 23, Smith was last seen in the Gallipolis Ferry area after leaving her mother’s home. That evening Jones said she spoke to Smith on the phone as Smith told her she felt unsafe with the group she was hanging around and was ready for rehab. On Feb. 25, when her family was ready to take her to get help, Smith never showed and that is when the search began. Smith’s car was located at the McClintic Wildlife Management Area outside of Point Pleasant. Her purse and her keys were found on the hood. The reward for information that leads to Smith’s location is now at $7,500.
