Boone County deputies said a shooting suspect was arrested after they found a wounded man in a road on his back who said he had been shot after an altercation with the suspect in his front yard. 30-year old David Cales of Jeffrey was arrested following a shooting Sunday on Bias Branch Road in Jeffrey, according to a criminal complaint filed in Boone County Magistrate Court. The wounded man told deputies he was shot in the lower abdomen when the fight escalated. A deputy traveled to a home on Spruce River Road in Ottaway and found the suspect and recovered the handgun, according to the criminal complaint.
