April will highlight the importance of West Virginia plants

The Kanawha Garden Club announced that Gov. Jim Justice recently signed a proclamation to officially designate April 2023 as “West Virginia Native Plant Month.” Native plants play a crucial role in for wildlife, the environment,and pollinators, and West Virginia is among the first states to join the nationwide effort to raise awareness about that. West Virginians can celebrate Native Plant Month by planting native trees, shrubs, perennials and grasses and removing non-native plants. The Kanawha Garden Club has more information.
