Governor Justice signed a bill that makes major changes to the Public Employee Insurance Agency. It sharply increases premiums for the PEIA’s 230-thousand customers and increases payments to hospitals. The bill hikes rates almost 25-percent and adds 147-dollar a month for some spousal coverage. Justice says that at the end of the day the PEIA increase is offset by a pay raise and tax cuts.
