Randolph County woman faces charges for animal cruelty

A woman was charged with nearly 100 counts of animal cruelty after dozens of dogs and cats were found in two homes with feces and urine “up to a foot in depth,” according to Randolph County deputies. Donna Thompson, of Valley Head is charged with 92 counts of animal cruelty, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said they found 11 dogs and 40 cats that were alive and 41 cats that were dead among two homes along Seneca Trail on March 20.
Deputies said all of the living animals recovered from the homes were in need of severe medical attention.
