A campaign launches to create a stamp honoring the late Chuck Yeager

West Virginia aviation pioneer Brigadier General Chuck Yeager could be honored with stamp. Lincoln County Emergency Services Director Allen Holder is a stamp collector and approached Victoria Yeager to initiate a campaign to have a stamp approved by the United States Postal Service. Anyone can send a letter asking the USPS to consider a stamp request, and Holder is asking anyone supportive of the idea of a Yeager stamp write a letter addresed to the Citizens’ Stamp Advisory Committee in Washington, DC, but send the letter to Holder’s office first in Alum Creek. A stamp can honor someone three years after their death, and Yeager passed away in December of 2020.
