A teen enters his plea in 2021 shooting case that killed a Capital High student

A teenage boy has pleaded guilty in connection to the shooting death of a Capital High School freshman. 16-year old Chrishaun Coller entered the plea in the 2021 shooting death of 14-year old Da’nija L. Miller of Charleston who was shot a home on Ryan Drive in the Rutledge Area. She later died from her injuries. Initially, several people were detained for questioning but charges weren’t filed until several months later. Coller agreed to plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter, a misdemeanor, and two counts of wanton endangerment, a felony. Coller faces up to one year in jail for the involuntary manslaughter charge. A wanton endangerment charge carries a possible penalty of one to five years in prison. He will be sentenced on June 8.
