Hurricane firefighters now have more space at their headquarters

A new state-of-the-art fire station is open in Hurricane. CARES Act funding helped make it possible. The new fire station has a living area, offices, a workout room, computer room, and a large bay area to store equipment. With the move, the Hurricane fire department leaves a 5,000 square-foot building and moves into 20,000 square feet of space, leaving room to grow. There are 31 paid and volunteer firefighters on staff now, and the department plans to expand. Applications to become a Hurricane firefighter are being accepted now.
