An old eye sore is about to be torn down in St. Albans. The former junior high school building will be demolished through a lengthy process that will kick off in two weeks. Astar Abatement will take care of the abatement process, which is the first step. It should take anywhere from two weeks to two months, and then Rodney Loftis’s company will then come in with its equipment. Eyewitness News said the actual demolition process should take roughly six weeks. While the abatement and tear down is happening, Thrasher Group will be on scene monitoring air levels. From start to finish the $1.1 demolition project should take three months at most.
