West Virginia ranks low for law enforcement’s working conditions

The financial website, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia to come up with the states that are the best ones to be a police officer. They used three key dimensions: Opportunity & Competition, Law Enforcement Training Requirements and Job Hazards & Protections. With those things in mind, WalletHub placed West Virginia at 49, just ahead of Alaska and Arkansas, with “Opportunity & Competition” being the state’s worst category. California is the best state to be a police officer, according to the study.
