A man with a gun has barricaded himself inside a home in Institute Monday. South Charleston Police Chief Brad Rinehart said the call started as a pursuit when a woman who had a domestic violence protective order against a man called police because the man was apparently following her. Police said they went to pull the man over but he took off in his car before running inside a home on Lincoln Avenue with a gun. He was later taken into custody and there were no injuries.
