Contract is approved for asphalt paving in Charleston

The Charleston City Council this week approved a $3.7 million contract for asphalt street paving. West Virginia Paving was the only other bidder after issues came up with the low bid by the company Mr. Asphalt. There concerns that Mr. Asphalt would not be able to complete the work in the time allowed and that bid was released. The Gazette-Mail reported West Virginia Paving’s bid was about $68,000 more than that of Mr. Asphalt.
