A convenience store in Kermit is under investigation for allowing people to use SNAP benefits to buy cigarettes, alcohol, THC and other products not allowed to be purchased under the plan. Investigators say customers were allowed to exchange the benefits for cash or use it to pay rent to the store’s owner, who also owns mobile homes behind the store.
